Losing the Baby (and fast food and beer and not exercising) Weight
This is us a year or so ago, but trust me, we are no less fat. I am definitely worse, as I gave birth to our second bouncing baby boy just over seven months ago. Yuck, right? Look at my arms! Yikes! And I won't even bother you with how floppy my belly fat is these days, but it's troubling to say the least. So here we go!
We are doing a three day detox, and I thought I would share with you what we're eating. I am taking a little bit of this and a little bit of that from a couple of Pinterest posts, a cookbook called the Sonoma Diet, common sense, and our good friends Josh and Sarah Clark's advice about balancing out your body's PH by just eating fruits and veggies. This three day detox will segue into Wave 1 of the Sonoma Diet, so stay tuned for info on our weight-loss progress!
Detox Menu:
Breakfast: Green Tea Smoothie, thanks to this recipe from Pinterest.
Morning Snack: Veggies. I'm choosing to simply have a tomato--I LOVE tomatoes--with a teeny tiny bit of balsamic vinegar and some basil.
Lunch: Huge salad. I like to add peas, tomatoes, onions, peppers, fruit, or anything else that sounds good to my salads. We won't be using dressings on the detox except a tiny bit of oil and vinegar.
Afternoon snack: Smoothie. 1/2 cup berries, 1/2 cup orange or banana, ice. OR veggies.
Dinner: Another huge salad.
I know that some people probably wouldn't even do the oil and vinegar, but I have to keep my sanity here, people.
Aside from the green tea in the breakfast smoothies, we'll only be drinking water.
Our fruit serving choices are based on the Food Pyramid.
Okay. I think that's all I need to tell you on this end. I'll update you when it's over! If you're thinking of joining us, good luck! I've got the first green tea smoothie down (pretty yummy!) and a morning snack. So far, aside from giving Donovan a bowl of homemade Chex Mix and REALLY wanting to shove a handful in my mouth, I'm doing well! Catch you on the flip.
